In the Dark

It's about 9:30 central, and we're still without power. My cell phone can't make calls or send/receive text messages, but my wireless card on my laptop appears to be working for short 5 minute spurts.

Anyway, we are OK. Our backyard has lots of damage - which is hard to believe considering we don't have much greenery. The one large tree we have broke in 3 places and the rest of our shorter shrubs are uprooted. I haven't made it out front very far yet since we're still on the tail end of the storm, but the roof of the carport for condo complex across the street is blown off and snarled over 3 cars 20 feet away from its original location. It's crazy.

To top it off, I think I scored a pretty sweet stomach virus. I spent this morning (and the night before) yakking. Otherwise it could also just be me feeling nervous about all of this.

Not sure what our plan is. We're going to wait until the afternoon - hopefully power and cell phones will work again so we can figure out what we're supposed to do.

Other than me probably being a little overdramatic about everything, we're fine. Dogs are stir crazy, but also fine.
