CSI THC

For the last six months, we have come home from work every day to find a stuffed dog toy on our bed. THC has imposed a very strict "no dogs on bed" rule, and the dogs are very careful to obey the rules.... when we are home.

The Accomplice: Dr. Feelgood.

About 2 years ago, I gave Dr. Feelgood to Harley as a Valentine's Day present to replace his really disgusting and decrepit stuffed bear (creatively named "Bear"). All that is left of Bear is his head (with all the stuffing pulled out), so it was definitely time for a less morbid upgrade.

Anyway, Harley never took a liking to Dr. Feelgood, and Emma has never showed any interest in toys. So when this pattern of finding Dr. F on the bed every day started, we could not figure out which ill-behaved dog was to blame.

THC finally reached a breaking point after finding the dog toy on the bed last night for the billionth time. So, this morning, he set to work putting small pieces of packing tape all over the bed, in an attempt to catch the culprit (i.e. by coming home and finding one of the dogs covered in packing tape). Ridiculous? You bet.

CSI THC at work.

Anyway, when we got home, neither dog was covered in packing tape, but there was definitely shards of packing tape around the house. THC immediately started analzying the fur on the packing tape samples and comparing them to fur on the dogs.

The scene of the crime.

At the end of the day, Emma was tried by a jury of her peers (aka Harley) and was found guilty of the crime of bed-lounging. She was sentenced to a penalty of one evening without a cookie.

If it had been Harley, he would have received half a cookie at least. Poor Emma!
