GHC made her first trip out to the cabin last week. It was a total welcome break from the Houston summer - which apparently, will NEVER end. Seriously, Houston, you have outdone yourself in sh*ttiness this summer.
The heat and humidity have prevented all flow of creativity, so this blog entry sucks pretty hard. But here are photos of GHC on vacay for your viewing pleasure.
P.S. The heat and humidity have NOT stifled THC's creativity. As I am typing this, he is holding GHC and watching the FIBA World Championship (no, not a typo, FIBA), and making all sorts of snarky remarks about Lamar Odom and any variety of Kardashian, while making up new nicknames for Harley - e.g. Lamar Scrotum.
Racking up frequent flier miles on the way out! She looks so sweet and innocent. TOTALLY incapable of 2 straight hours of screeching, right??? WRONG.
Sitting in a rocking chair on the porch. A preview of many summers to come.
GHC has been standing like this for almost 2 months now. She still can't lift her head off the floor during tummy time (picture a dying fish flopping on the ground, and that should be a decent mental image of GHC during tummy time). So, I'm convinced she will walk before she crawls.
Breakfast at Pisgah Inn, thinking very hard about whether it would be more awesome to take a massive crap now or during our morning hike.
Getting her first taste of peas from her Nana (? we're still figuring out her name). In true North Carolina fashion, and being her father's child, she is shirtless.
This was the cleanest photo of her eating peas that we took. But I just love her facial expression here.
Lunch at Varner's with the Baileys. Oh boy, do I love me some Baileys.
Harley taking a swim at the lake at Dupont Park.
It's hard to see what is going on here, but it's 4 dogs and GHC all in a row, laying around being generally worthless.
Ahh, family photo. This picture was taken at the top of the trail, about 30 seconds before it started POURING down rain. And we, being the super awesome parents that we are, had no raingear for us or GHC. One day, she will forgive us for putting her through that misery. And the general misery of being our child.
